Conservation of Bell's Vireo
The population of Bell’s Vireo (Vireo bellii) has declined throughout its range, and is listed as a species of conservation concern in Nebraska. While there is evidence that Bell’s Vireo are more abundant in heterogeneous agricultural landscapes, better data are needed to identify determinates of nesting success. In this project, we identified the relative conservation value of shrubland habitat embedded in a gradient of land use between natural prairie and farmland landscapes.
